Read this if you need an eye exam

Need an eye exam? If you are without an eye doctor, and do not have vision insurance coverage, you may be eligible for care at no out-of-pocket cost, thanks to a public service program of the Foundation of the American Academy of Ophthalmology.  Those who qualify receive eye care through volunteer ophthalmologists who waive co-payments and accept Medicare or other insurance as payment in full.

Patients without insurance receive care at no cost.

You can take a survey on the Foundation’s website to see if you qualify. Eyeglasses are not covered.  The website specifies other services that are not included in the program.
