Help is here in Summit County for accessing Obamacare health insurance

Affordable Care ActIf you need help enrolling for health insurance coverage through the new Health Insurance Marketplace or the state-run Medicaid program, there are several places you can go throughout the Akron area.

The Beacon Journal recently published a list of community agencies that will offer help throughout December.

For example, certified application counselors from Axess Pointe Community Health Center will be available 3 to 6 p.m. Dec. 17 and 4 to 7 p.m. Dec. 18 at the Barberton Public Library, 602 W. Park Ave. You can also call Axess Point at 888-975-9188.

You can also find information about applying for Medicaid coverage at http://benefits.ohio.gov/. Acceptance of online applications begins Dec. 9. Summit County residents also can call the Summit County Department of Job and Family Services at 330-643-8200 for more information or a paper copy of the application form.
